Book Review: My Stinky Dog by Christine Roussey

Delightfully funny and warm picture book.

Alfred is a very smelly and lovable family pet – but what happens when you clean him?

The pictures in this book are fabulous and messy just like Alfred! Although there are lots of Americanisms, they don’t detract form the lovely story. The moral of the story for me is that sometimes our faults make us the people we are – and that’s what people love about us!

I really enjoyed this silly story and it would be a pleasure to read it to Reception and KS1 or for KS1 children to enjoy reading themselves. The beautiful message lends well to PSHE and Empathy Day.
