This is the 5th book in the Dave Pigeon series and I can see it being a big hit with readers between 5 and 8. It features two bumbling pigeons, Dave and Skipper and their arch nemesis, Mean Cat. It looks as though Mean Cat has cloned herself but it turns out that the human lady is cat-sitting for her Aunty. This cat makes Mean Cat look nice…and that is a terrifying problem for Dave and Skipper.

Short, filled with superb illustrations and humorous, this will appeal to readers in KS1 and lower KS2 wanting an adventure and comedy. Dave and Skipper are a brilliant blend of friendship, banter and hijinks. They seem to find themselves in situations they cannot control with hilarious outcomes.

I like these books and the silliness they provide for the reader all the while appreciating the friendship and fun that Dave and Skipper have together.
