This family favourite, Ebb and Flo and the Baby Seal is set to please a new generation of book lovers. Perfect for all ages and the another in the Ebb and Flo series. This story would resonate with children who have found themselves ignored by a busy parent on a rainy day.

Ebb, the dog, finds herself at a loose end with nothing to do. Flo (a small child) on the other hand, is busy painting and is able to amuse herself much to Ebb’s dismay. Even mum is too busy and so were the ducks. Alas, Ebb has no one to play with.

Pitter, patter, pitter, patter, whoosh, went the rhythm of the rain. Pitter, patter, pitter, patter, whoosh. A new sound broke the hypnotic rainy rhythm: wah, wah. At last, Ebb had found a playmate. Awaiting Ebb on the beach sits a lone seal. A seal waiting for a friend to play with. The duo play together long into the evening until Ebb’s tummy begins to rumble. It is time for Ebb to return to mum and Flo but wait, what about the seal? Where is her family? Her parents?

Fortunately, Ebb knows what to do when there is a problem. Ebb knows to ask an adult for help. With a woof and a wah from the young seal pup, Flo, her mum and Ebb set off to reunite the young pup with his mother.

This joyful picture book is perfect for any primary classroom. The book contains a useful message about what children can do when they find themselves in situations of uncertainty.
