Just Imagine

Just Imagine provides literacy training and resources for schools as well as parents and home educators. We run online and face-to-face courses for schools, libraries and other organisations. We also supply books to schools, selected by our team of literacy experts.

Established in 2010 by Nikki Gamble, a  former teacher, university lecturer and writer, Just Imagine consultancy works extensively with schools in the UK and internationally to develop outstanding reading and writing in schools, where stories and literature are placed firmly at the heart of learning.

We run a regular programme of online courses for teachers covering topics such as teaching reading at KS1, teaching reading at KS2, language development and vocabulary, reading in curriculum subjects, developing reading fluency and from reading into writing. Reading Gladiators – an award-winning reading resource

Our award-winning reading challenge, now in its eighth year, is available from years 2 through to year 6. From Autumn 2023, Reading Gladiators will be included in a new Just Imagine subscription package.

Take One Book – literature-based literacy resource

The Take One book resource provides a literacy solution for schools seeking to provide high quality-reading instruction in a context that promotes reading for pleasure.

The pedagogy is based on a synthesis from research and our own action research conducted for the London Schools Excellence Fund. Now in its fourth year, Take One Book is growing rapidly. It is a cost-effective resource for schools that want the assurance of well-conceived lesson planning with flexibility for teachers to adapt to their own context. An annual subscription includes free webinars exemplifying the approaches that are used in the lesson sequences.
