Jimi-My-Jim the cat appears to have everything; a loving owner, glittering collars and many tantalising toys. However, he is left feeling flat as all the material possessions in the world can’t make up for his lack of adventure and friendships. Until, one day when he gets an opportunity to explore the world and find true happiness…

I was really impressed with this book. The illustrations are lovely and the vocabulary is well-pitched to expand that of younger readers without being beyond them. There is an element of playful repetition, ambitious vocabulary and word-play within the story which add to the entertainment of it. In addition to the text qualities, this book provides a great basis to talk about feelings, longing and happiness.
