Fans of Pamela Butchart’s Wigglesbottom Primary books will not be disappointed by this latest outing. Each story highlights key elements that make up life in a school and they are accompanied by Becka Moor’s lively illustrations. It’s always interesting to see how the children are going to react to what they encounter and the trouble that follows. This instalment see a visit from Ofsted, bunnies and a music teacher who may or may not be a witch.

The author clearly understands children and their vivid imaginations. It’s a book full of joy and an easy flowing read that will be enjoyed by a range of age groups. Inclusive in its illustrations as well as text it offers readers the opportunity to see themselves in the story. Children and teachers alike will identify characters that are like real people in their own school and this is part of its charm.

A funny book that will be a popular addition to any reading for pleasure box. This could be read during story time in both KS1 and KS2 classes as a relaxing way to end the day. Due to the structure of each story it could be used as a frame for writing similar stories within literacy and as it’s set in a school the children understand the setting and possible misunderstandings that could take place.
